It's the first thing everyone asks.
Are the bones safe?
Yes. Pilchards are soft-boned fish. Once air-dried, those bones crumble completely ā no splintering, no sharp edges, no choking risk. Your dog (and your cat) chews through the whole thing and digests it without issue.
Now that's out of the way ā let's talk about what these actually do.
Most pet parents reach for canned fish thinking they're doing the right thing. And they're not wrong about the omega-3s ā but canned fish comes loaded with salt, oils, and processing that undoes a lot of the nutritional goodness before it even reaches your dog's bowl.
Our pilchards are whole fish, air-dried in Victoria with nothing added and nothing taken away. Every omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acid intact. Every skin and coat benefit preserved. The kind of anti-inflammatory, immune-supporting nutrition that fish is genuinely famous for ā in a single-ingredient treat your dog can crunch through and your cat will absolutely lose their mind over.
Rich in protein, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and the natural compounds that support muscle and connective tissue development ā these are especially valuable for puppies building strength and senior dogs maintaining it.
No salt. No oil. No canning. Just fish.
We're so confident in our ingredient list, we offer something almost no treat company does.
If your vet doesn't agree with what's inside, we'll refund you. Not store credit. Not fine print. A refund.
When the ingredient list is one word long, confidence comes naturally.
Ingredient: 100% Australian Pilchard
Whole pilchards are an excellent source of high-quality protein and essential Omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 is vital for the health of the immune system, skin and fur, and brain. Unfortunately, in the modern diet, we tend to eat far too much Omega 6 and not enough Omega 3, which can upset the balance of healthy fats and lead to inflammatory conditions. Adding wholefood sources of Omega 3, like pilchards, is an excellent way to combat this common dietary shortcoming.
Because they are small and sit low in the food chain, Pilchards also contain very low levels of mercury, when compared to larger fish with similar health benefits. They are an excellent source of B vitamins, especially vitamin B12, as well as calcium, selenium, iodine, phosphorous, iron and vitamin A.
Pilchards are also a rare dietary source of vitamin D, which is especially important for dogs as they do not effectively convert vitamin D from sunlight like we do. Vitamin D is important for strong and healthy bones and teeth, which are achieved by assisting with nutrient absorption and ensuring the bodyās calcium and phosphorous levels are balanced.
